Charles F. McCormick leads the corporate and transactional practice at McCormick & O’Brien, LLP. He represents venture capital and private equity investors and private and public companies in direct investment, buyout, M&A and securities, financial and general corporate transactions in the information technology, software, consulting, automotive, manufacturing, e-commerce, healthcare, financial services, media, energy, education and telecommunications industries. He has advised clients in a variety of cross-border transactions involving Canada, Mexico, Latin America, Eastern and Western Europe and the Middle East.
Mr. McCormick is a 1995 graduate of the University of Chicago Law School, where he completed coursework in corporate finance at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, and a 1991 graduate of Fordham College (summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa). He is recognized in the National Register’s Who’s Who in Executives and Professionals for his work in corporate law and with emerging companies and venture capital and private equity investors. Mr. McCormick was previously Counsel to O’Melveny & Myers LLP and an Associate with O’Sullivan Graev & Karabell, LLP and White & Case, LLP.

Our corporate group advises private equity and venture capital funds in direct investments, exits, M&A transactions, rollups and fund administrative matters. We represent middle market companies raising debt or equity capital, private placements, acquiring or selling all or part of a business or cmpany, entering into and exiting joint ventures and strategic alliances, licensing intellectual property, implementing executive compensation and stock option plans and negotiating employment agreements with senior management.

Our regualtory practice advises broker-dealers and investment advisors regarding general regulatory, enforcement and agency audit matters with FINRA, the SEC and state regulatory agencies.

Our litigation practice handles commercial and securities industry litigation and arbitration matters, including litigation arising from M&A transactions.
